Ella as KatnissWe've had a recent shift in the household. I finally let Ella watch The Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen, though fictional, is a selfless, intelligent and strong woman. I believe her to be a good role model. So for Halloween, Ella asked to be Katniss. I saw that one coming. Thank God for thrift stores; we scored on tall leather boots for $1.99 and a retro jacket perfect for running through the trees and shooting arrows (with blunt plastic tips, of course). Once we had the costume all set, I whipped her hair into a french braid and the only thing left to do was a photo shoot! Ethan tagged along and happily whittled his sticks while ignoring the camera.
